Palm Bay Florida

Palm Bay is a city located in Brevard County on the east Central Florida coast. It is often referred to as a city in four quadrants -Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, and Southeast. Palm Bay is located midway between Jacksonville and Miami and is geographically situated 10 miles southwest of Melbourne, about 65 miles southeast of Orlando, and 180 miles north of Miami. Its population is estimated to be about 100,786 as of July 1, 2008. This city is the most populated city in Brevard County. Palm Bay forms part of Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is also the principal city of this metropolitan area which has an estimated population of 536,521 as of July 1, 2008.

Palm Bay has a total land area of 66.75 sq mi. It is the largest incorporated area in Brevard County and is the 7th largest city throughout Florida. It is bordered by St.Johns River, Sawgrass Lake, Lake Hellen Blazes, Indian Fields, St.John’s Marsh and Osceola County on the west; Grant-Vakaria, Malabar and Indian River Lagoon on the east; West Melbourne and Melbourne on the north, and; Deer Run and St.John’s Marsh on the south. Major highways and thoroughfares in and around Palm Bay City include Interstate I-95 and U.S. Route 192.

Palm Bay provides an array of recreational activities including 29 city parks that feature paintball and skateboarding, an aquatic center, a 200-acre regional park, two public/ private golf courses, Turkey Creek Sanctuary and several beaches.
