Kentucky, also known as the Bluegrass State, is one of the four US states that constitute the commonwealth. It used to be a part of the Virginia until 1792 when it became the 15th state of the United States. Kentucky has a land area of 39,728 square miles (102,896 square kilometers). Aside from all these, the state also manufactures motor vehicles, furniture, aluminum ware, brooms, apparel, lumber products, machinery, textiles, and iron and steel products. It also provides significant amounts of petroleum, natural gas, fluorspar, clay and stone.
The capital of Kentucky is Frankfurt. Its most populated city is Louisville which is also famous for the Kentucky Derby. Kentucky’s attractions include Mammoth Cave, the George S. Patton, Jr., Military Museum at Fort Knox, and Old Fort Harrod State Park.
